Hi, I’m Morgan and I’m the active program coordinator for Thrive Health Foundation. If you’ve found us, chances are you’ve been through so much already. I know because I’ve been through the same things as many of you have- the fear, the anger, the devastation, the hopelessness. There was a very dark time in my life where I was terrified that I’d never walk again or even have a future at all. This all changed when I found a community that gave me hope and a place of healing. I want to take this time to share my full story for the ones who have tirelessly tried to find that hope and healing that truly is possible, because life with chronic illness can still be full.

It all began in March of 2020 when my first symptoms started. I went from being a very active person to not being able to even get off of the couch. As these terrible symptoms persisted, my parents took me to every medical doctor and specialist you can think of, leaving us with more questions than answers. Finally, after realizing that holistic medicine is the only way to help me, we found an integrative doctor who diagnosed me with Mold Illness. They told us that the only way to help me was to leave Kentucky and find a dry place that I could heal in. With that, we packed up our camper and hit the road. While on the road in Oklahoma, finally starting to feel better, I was bit by an infected deer tick. I had a few Lyme symptoms, but with the use of herbs and supplements they quickly went away, until a few months later when everything fell apart- again. After moving to Arizona, my symptoms came back in full force. I pretty much had every symptom, head to toe, that you can think of. Eventually my legs became so weak that I physically was not able to walk on my own. We started with a cane which quickly became a wheelchair and being completely bedridden, barely hanging on. We ended up finding a naturopath in Arizona who did not understand and only made things worse through heavy antibiotic use. This naturopath diagnosed me with Chronic Lyme Disease and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, but my case was too much for him to work with. Things only got worse while I lived on the couch unable to function. My parents could not stand to see me in this position and found a Lyme-literate functional medicine clinic in Southern Utah. Willing to try anything at this point, we booked an appointment and moved our lives up to St. George, Utah. I immediately started an intensive IV therapy, chiropractic treatments, and many other holistic therapies. Eventually I was able to get out of bed and function like a normal human being. Eventually I was strong enough to throw away the wheelchair and walk on my own.

It’s been two years since my living nightmare finally started to come to an end. Yes, I still have bad days and symptoms to treat, but my quality of life has improved so much more than I ever thought possible. I am now working full time, driving, looking into further holistic education, and living my life the way that I want to. My mission in this new life is to help as many people as I can get the treatment and hope that they deserve.

My role as your program coordinator will be to walk with you through every step of this process. Here are some of the steps to follow:

  • Create an account to fill out your application. You can click here
  • I will review your case and I will be in touch with you on every step of the way.
  • Once reviewed, I’ll set up a time to interview you just so I can get to know your situation a little better.
  • After the initial interview, I will submit your case to our Board of Directors where they’ll decide on if a grant is awarded or not.
  • Once a decision has been made, I will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

I look forward to connecting with you and will be here for you and any questions you may have! You can also set up a discovery call so I can answer any questions or send me an email to morgan@trhivehf.org.

Healing and hope are still possible.

My Story

If you’ve found Thrive Health Foundation, chances are you’ve already been through more than most people can imagine.

I know this journey well—because I’ve lived it too. The fear. The anger. The devastation. The hopelessness.

There was a very dark time in my life when I was terrified that I would never walk again—or even have a future at all. Everything began to change when I found a community that gave me hope and a true place of healing.

I want to share my story for those who have tirelessly searched for that hope, because even with chronic illness, a full and meaningful life is still possible.

Everything Changed — March 2020

My health journey began suddenly. I went from being a very active person to barely being able to get off the couch.

As symptoms persisted, my parents took me to every medical doctor and specialist imaginable—leaving us with more questions than answers.

Searching for Answers

After realizing that conventional medicine alone was not helping, we turned to holistic care.

An integrative doctor diagnosed me with mold illness and explained that healing would require leaving Kentucky for a dry climate. We packed up a camper and hit the road.

Another Setback

While traveling through Oklahoma and finally starting to feel better, I was bitten by an infected deer tick.

Symptoms faded at first—until a few months later, when everything fell apart again.

The Lowest Point

After moving to Arizona, my symptoms returned in full force.

My legs became so weak that I could no longer walk on my own. A cane became a wheelchair, and eventually I became completely bedridden—barely hanging on.

When Treatment Made Things Worse

We found a naturopath who did not fully understand my condition. Heavy antibiotic use only made things worse.

I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease and Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome, but my case was considered too complex.

A Turning Point — St. George, Utah

My parents found a Lyme-literate functional medicine clinic in Southern Utah. We moved to St. George, and I began intensive IV therapy and holistic care.

Learning to Live Again

Slowly, I regained strength—eventually walking on my own again.

Where I Am Today

I work full time, drive, and live a life I once thought was impossible.
